Creating a Designer Portfolio

Create a portfolio of your work is easy! A simple portfolio can be arranged in any 3 ring binder. Using inserts or laminated pages looks more professional and be sure to include a table of contents.

Your portfolio should contain:

1) Current and past designs, photographed alone and modelled.
2) Price lists.
3) Designer biography: a little bit about yourself, why you started designing, what types of products you can make, etc.
4) References with contact information.
5) Past press coverage.

Don`t panic if you do not have all of these items! Obviously, a portfolio is something that needs to be built over time. When initially starting up your business, include as much as you can, but don`t lie. If a three ring binder makes your information look odd because their is not enough, try a nice folder with a center that you can attach pages to.
