Using Recycled Boxes

Most boutique designers order items online that are delivered to your home in a box. Rather than throwing this box out, why not recycle it? I often use recycled boxes from items that are mailed to me and others that are given to me by a friend who works at an office.

I have seen several businesses begin to use recycled boxes and have a sticker on the outside that states "Company Name uses recycled boxes, please recycle it again." I decided to do something similar: During a free promotion at Vistaprint.com, I obtained a rubber stamp that says "My company name recycled this box. Please help the environment and use it again." In addition, I also enclose a note in the box on attractive recycled paper that reminds the customer to reuse the box to help the environment.

Also, using clean recycled boxes is one less expense I have!

***One note: It is ILLEGAL to obtain free shipping supplies from the USPS, FEDEX, or UPS and turn their material inside out to get a free box without paying their required postage. I know of one boutique designer who received a $5000 fine for this offense. I wouldn`t try it.
